Game Information:
We sent an Israeli photographer up Mt. Sinai to capture the first ever 360 degree navigable ‘photobubbles' of the Holy Mountain of Moses. We take your students to the mountain... giving them full screen vistas they navigate. (In fact, the background to this web page was created from one of these vistas.) Using some incredible technology, we made these 'photobubbles' into an interactive journey for your students. As your students navigate their way through the photobubbles, they'll discover hidden learning activities along the trail leading to the Sinai summit. Students discover the activities by rolling their mouse over the screen. But don't worry, there's a control panel at your feet in each photobubble with all the hidden activities listed for you.
The CD begins when you meet up with Moses in his Mt. Sinai office (seen at right). Moses has a presentation which brings your students up-to-date on how the Hebrews came to Mt. Sinai. Outside in the first 'photobubble' you students come face to face with a camel -but start turning in the photobubble and you'll see the base of Sinai and St. Catherine's Monastery. Click on the corner of the monastery to enter it and open the Ark to hear God read the commandments and see interesting notes about them (each with a question) appear on the front of the ark. Click on the wall behind the Ark to hear from young people -via video clips- talking about four of the commandments. Don't forget to click on the Sun outside the Monastery for a discussion starter about "Keeping the Sabbath Holy."
Halfway up the mountain your students must cross The Bridge Over Chaos Canyon. On its planks they'll learn the meaning and purpose of The Law. Careful on that last plank! --following the Law can only take you so far --and then you must take the "Leap of Faith." Before your cross the bridge, click on the signs to hear Moses' definition of Promised Land. Older kids/youth will find an interesting side-trip and discussion starter when they click on the "S.S. My Way" shipwreck next to the bridge.
Once across the Chaos Canyon Bridge pass by the cross and enter another 360 degree photobubble learning area halfway up the mountain. Click on the edge of the trail and you'll see the Ten Commandments Tablets. But read the little critter's sign and don't touch them. If you do some of the words will fall off and you'll have to reassemble the commandments. Click the Sun to reveal a presentation and discussion starter about the 8th Commandment (stealing). Older children and youth will especially want to find the two "interactive Billboards" on the trail. Each billboard features cool music and presentations about the concept of IDOLS using images from pop culture sure to stimulate discussion on the concept of "idols." Program tip: Don't miss the hidden hotspot up at the end of the trail...it features a "flash" presentation of the Great Commandment
